Official Terms & Conditions

By participating in the MPA Oscars for Education Pool (the “Pool”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

1. Sponsor

The Pool is sponsored and administered by the Minor Performer Alliance (“MPA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Eligibility; Minors

Participation is open to individuals of any age. Minors (individuals under the age of 18) may participate only with the knowledge and consent of their parent or legal guardian.

By participating, each minor participant represents and warrants that their parent or legal guardian has reviewed and approved these Terms on their behalf. Parents or legal guardians of participating minors accept full responsibility for the minor’s participation, including compliance with these Terms.

MPA reserves the right to request verification of parental or guardian consent at its sole discretion.

3. Donation Required to Be Eligible for Any Prize

A donation to MPA is required to be eligible for consideration for any prize associated with the Pool. Donations are voluntary charitable contributions made in support of MPA’s mission, including funding education scholarships for minor performers.

Participants (and parents/guardians of minor participants) expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • Donations are made solely for charitable purposes.

  • Donations are not made in exchange for, nor do they guarantee, any prize.

  • The Pool is not a raffle, lottery, or gambling activity.

  • Participation does not create any contractual, property, or entitlement right to a prize.

4. Entry Deadline

All predictions or selections must be submitted no later than March 15 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time. Entries submitted after this deadline will not be considered for any purpose, regardless of donation status.

5. Prize Determination and Disbursement

Any prizes associated with the Pool, if offered, are awarded at the sole and absolute discretion of MPA. MPA reserves the right to determine eligibility, resolve disputes or ties, modify or substitute prizes, or decline to award a prize for any reason.

All decisions by MPA are final and binding.

6. No Guarantee of Prizes

MPA makes no representations or warranties regarding the availability, value, timing, or nature of any prize. Participation does not entitle any participant to receive a prize or compensation.

7. Assumption of Risk

Participants, and parents or legal guardians on behalf of minor participants, voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the Pool and any prize that may be awarded.

8. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants and parents or legal guardians of minor participants release and forever discharge MPA, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, and agents from any and all claims or liabilities, whether known or unknown, arising out of or related to:

  • Participation in the Pool

  • Any donation made

  • Prize eligibility, selection, or disbursement

  • Any errors, omissions, delays, or cancellations related to the Pool

9. Covenant Not to Sue

Participants, and parents or legal guardians on behalf of minor participants, agree not to initiate or pursue any legal action against MPA for any reason related to the Pool, including but not limited to prize decisions, eligibility, or use of donated funds.

10. Indemnification

Participants, and parents or legal guardians of minor participants, agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MPA from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from participation in the Pool or violation of these Terms.

11. Taxes

Participants and parents or legal guardians are solely responsible for any applicable taxes related to participation or receipt of a prize. MPA makes no tax representations.

12. Modification or Cancellation

MPA reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Pool at any time, for any reason, without notice.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of California.

14. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Acceptance of Terms

Participation in the Pool constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms by the participant and, if applicable, their parent or legal guardian.
